Where would we be without our senses? If you’re lucky enough to have all of yours, imagine living without one of them, even if only for a short while. It would throw you off right? It’s a sad fact that millions of people around the world don’t have the luxury of all of their senses, and some with more than just one missing too. It’s important to appreciate the senses that we do have, so take a look at these five ways to improve your senses.
Sight
Being able to see the wonders of this world is an amazing luxury that we have. However, many people around the world need glasses due to poor eyesight. However, there are some natural ways to improve your eyesight, and they are as follows:
- Eat foods high in vitamin A, C & E
- Get enough sleep
- Keep your eyes moist
- Move your eyes around by rolling them, this will make them stronger.
- Take breaks from your computer screen. Too much exposure can damage your eyes.
- Get adjusted by your chiropractor!
Hearing
Imagine not being able to hear the wonderful things in this world? Our ears are sensitive organs that need taking care of, and some people never get the luxury of hearing anything clearly. Find out more about hearing loss and aids to help here. There are ways that you can help your hearing naturally too, so try these things to help boost your hearing:
- Get your ears checked regularly at your doctors, as they may need cleaned out if they’ve become blocked by wax.
- Don’t listen to music that’s too loud.
- Get adjusted by your chiropractor!
Taste
Our taste buds are also a delicate part of our bodies and can be easily affected by things we do everyday. Avoid doing these things to keep your taste buds at their best:
- Eating or drinking foods that are too hot
- Consuming too many foods that will burn our mouth taste wise
- Take your time when chewing food to allow your taste buds to experience all of the flavours.
- Stop smoking as it decreases the ability to taste foods properly.
Smell
One of the greatest senses is our smell, especially when we get a whiff of amazing aromas from the kitchen and we’re hungry. Here are some ways to improve your smell:
- Do some exercise when your heartbeat raises so does your sense of smell.
- Drink plenty of water to flush away anything that could be blocking you up.
- Avoid medication that can dampen your senses. Speak to your GP about this.
- Stop smoking as it decreases your ability to smell
- Get adjusted by your chiropractor! Opening up your sinuses by using Beesecret can help as well!
Touch
Last but not least, touch is an amazing sensation that we simply couldn’t be without. Imagine not being able to feel the warmth of a hug, or the sensation of a chiropractic treatment! Try these things to improve your sense of touch.
- Exfoliate regularly. Dead, dry and thick skin can dampen the sensation we feel when we touch something.
- Keep moving so that the blood flow is everywhere and therefore not dampening any senses.
- Speak to your chiropractor if it’s something that’s worrying you, as you may have an underlying problem.
Chiropractic is amazing! By getting adjusted you can reset your nervous system, which controls EVERYTHING in your body. Chiropractic actually got started because D.D. Palmer adjusted Harvey Lillard (a deaf janitor) and restored his hearing! So go get checked by your chiropractor!!
