Health Benefits of Rest And Rejuvenation

Are you someone who is constantly on the go? Someone who doesn’t feel as though they’ve even got a minute to sit down and actually rest? Well, we all get like that sometimes, event without a family it can be hard to manage time. You’ll either be working, managing a household, out with a partner, out with friends, out with family… the list goes on and on.
All of this rushing around can actually be a nightmare for your health, even if you don’t realise it. Your body needs time to rest and rejuvenate. Some things that you could be doing to your body are pretty damaging as well which only makes things worse. So there are a few ways that you can truly rest and rejuvenate your body.
Getting Rid Of Toxins
First, you need to think about whether the food you’re putting into your body is actually good for you. If you are concerned with how well you eat, take time and do a food journal. A food journal is where you write absolutely everything down that enters your mouth. At the end of the week, look at how you ate. It might be very surprising!
Did you consume nothing but junk food and sweets? Did you eat out more often than you thought you did? Did you eat potatoes from a box? (YUCK!!) When you eat a balanced, healthy meal, you will actually FEEL better! You will have more energy and start to shed some possible pounds. You won’t be as hungry when you eat nutritious foods and you won’t be spending as much money eating out. Home cooked meals are actually MUCH cheaper!
Next, we need to find a way to get rid of those toxins within your body to help get you back to full health. So food allergy testing will be a good start! Once you can determine what your body sees as a toxin, you can start feeling and living a healthier lifestyle!
Besides food, another huge toxin is alcohol! Do you wind down with a drink on a Friday or Saturday night, or do you drink everyday? Do you drink one drink or several? Toxins from alcohol affect not only our liver, but our entire body!
My body is “sensitive” to aspergillus mix which includes alcoholic drinks such as; beer, wine, cider, whiskey, brandy, gin and rum. (<—I sure do enjoy a good Malbec wine.) So until my gut is healed I will be cutting out all alcohol. If it’s not easy to cut out alcohol for you or you need help doing so, consider finding a place such as the recovery village that helps you detox.
Lastly, you need to find a conservative workout plan that will fit the lifestyle you want. If that means walking 20 mins a few times a week, build that into your schedule. If you have kids, make it a family affair. Light exercise, actually gives you more energy and sweating helps you get rid of toxins in your body.
Finding A Routine
Routines are important in life! I have a husband, two small children, two dogs, two jobs and a blog, a house to clean, cooking to do…. list is ENDLESS! I plan my day. When I don’t plan, it’s very easy to get lazy and not be able to fit everything into the day. The average adult requires around 8 hours of sleep a night to function at a suitable level. So make sure you are building good quality sleep into your routine. The best thing you can do at bedtime is make sure all technology is off and away from you when your ready to wind down and get in bed.
That all being said, you must schedule time for you! Health is obviously very important and finding a chiropractor can help with an unlimited amount of things!! From sleep, to pain, to food allergies and diet plans. So find a chiropractor to help suit your needs. If you have a spine, you need a good chiropractor! 😘
